How about this - what obligation does Sony have to release a new firmware?

they have probably made the update but don't won't to release it because of a game that has been delayed or something and they know it will be cracked before the sun rises....

that's a good point..
in my mind, the psp is on the verge of death, with the system so easily hackable and the ease of accquiring pirated games, game studios don't want to get into a project due to the low sales.
So, what use is a multimedia console which prides itself on its gaming capabilities if there are no games being released for it?

there are plenty of new games,.!? well yes the PSP is hackable,. but there is more to it then only selling games,. most games are multi platform,. and there is always some games you want to buy,. the ease of an UMD instead of copying back-ups to your memstick.
There are plenty of new updates planned,. screenshot plugin, divx suport,. etc etc
If the PSP was't that hackable they prob did't sell that amny PSP's,..

i guess so, but still as much as i love it and hate to admit it, looking at the figures_most_ major corporations would call the psp failure.
the only game that im waiting for is lego batman!
