Threaded Mode | Linear Mode

Well, my iPod has taken quite a beating in the 2 years I've owned it, and it shows in all the scratches it has. I'm currently looking to replace the front plate, back plate, and click wheel and button. ie, the entire exterior. Anyway, anyone know how and/or where I could get the chrome back engraved with a design? I want something like the stuff Microsoft did with the Zune. Many internets to whoever can help me.

What microsoft did to the zune is called Zune originals.
I think apple does the same with ipods but you can't get a nice complex design like in the zune originals, I think you can only get your name or something.

Maybe look for a shop that has a waterjet and have them engrave ?

I know Apple doesn't do anything that complex, that's why I'm looking elsewhere (please oh please don't start any iPod/Zune discussions). And will a place like that just engrave an image that I specify?

Well I know that you can etch the crome you will have to get an echant solution and of course have some sort of design.

All you really need is the back you can get it chromed later. but I found this. should get you started.

I'm going to wait for the iPod to be in the 8'th Generation and buy a new one. I'm on a 5.5G iPod and it works great. But it's scratched up... The only reason I'll have for a 7G iPod would be that my current one would break. But by the time wee're at 8G I'll be needing the huge amount of space.
