RE: Help removing Micro$oft Office 07 SP1
That just breaks a part of SP1.

Mount your DVD, and run:

Code:
msiexec /a X:\*****.WW\*****WW.msi

X = your DVD-Rom
**** = Your office
Eg:

Code:
msiexec /a I:\Enterprise.WW\EnterpriseWW.msi

(a - forces all files to be reinstalled, form your non-SP1 DVD)

Edit:

Make a batch file and run it as admin.

Use 7-zip to unpack it, if that fails the EXE unpack someplace, find it then run ^^.

I'm very sorry for missing that part. This will work, I now have office 2007 with no SP1.

ok before i do that, I'll just let you know that I've removed everything from Office 07 through Vista Manager, except for SP1. so which of the things have you said is to remove sp1?
and just so you know, I'm don't want to reinstall office 07 immediately, I'll probably just use open office

RE: Help removing Micro$oft Office 07 SP1
Does VistaManager just remove the entries from the Add/Remove Programs List (ie by deleting registry keys under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall) or actually somehow uninstall the application?  Cause I'm betting on the former, which is generally not what you want... (cause you'll be left with an installed application - just the entry removed from the Add/Remove Programs list)

Edit, just installed a copy of Office 2007 Demo I had lying around the HDD to try this :P
Odd thing, proof.xml isn't in the Common Files folder - instead in some MSOCache folder - odd :S

Dunno if it worked though.  Thanks for sharing nonetheless :)

Vista Manger i have found to be really good, because it uninstalls the program then it searches for all things associated with it whether they are files or registy entries, so when i got rid of MS Word, it removed the association of it with the .docx extention for example (and many more, including all the files like msword.exe)

I've since fixed my problem :D all i needed to do was re-install office and then remove it again and there were no more updats for it coming up in Windows Update :D

hmm that is wierd Zinga, do you know which office demo you have? (not that it should really matter)

anyways since my problem is fixed (thanks to everyone and rep to especially xero1 for all his help), this thread is
