Have you looked at replacement launchers? SPB Shell is a really nice one, only problem is it's $15. 'Course, if you look around I'm sure you can find other ways to get it. But for a phone teh size of the Note, it might really be nice.

They're right about miui, it's pure candy if you work on it. There's a beta on xda, looks like it's pretty usable. If you're liking the way 4.0 looks, check out xda's theme section. And I'll second widget locker and ADW, I use both and really like them.
