well, SORRY for agreeing with someones opinion. Underground music is good. I didnt say that mainstream music was bad, i just like both.

No sir...I'm implying that if it's mainstream, you'll have all of these twelve year olds swooning over it. Take Slipknot for example. It's just trend metal. I say if it isn't sold in stores or the majority of the people that you know don't know what it is, is good.

I brought hardstyle and gabber to my school. Instead of listening to gay donkey Hollywood Undead on the way to Voc. school, wee listen to HeadhunterZ and such now...

I will admit that some mainstream is okay...I can listen to Tool, System of a Down, etc....

Slipknot like it or not are great musicians and whether you like it or not a lot more talented than the large number of lesser known metal acts simply because they just aren't as good as them.

I'm not saying sales are a point of proof to their popularity. I'm saying the actual fanbase is. Slipknots IOWA, maybe not to you, but to the average person, is simply unlistenable. Being able to accept and enjoy that album gives them every right to be part of the legitimate fanbase and frankly calling Slipknot "Trend Metal" is just insulting to them. They are a heavy metal band; and a fudgeing good one at that.

Isn't this just the wonderful thing about the open nature of musical acceptance?

i don't understand why some people shun mainstream music simply because everyone else likes it and go underground. Either because they're desperately trying to be different or they just can't think logically
