can't tell if its sarcasm or not haha. but just stick with the *NIX for a while, youll eventually learn more about computers than you ever wanted to know Madwin

especially with the more technical distros, Linux teaches you about computers as a whole, and once youve truly learned on an OS (not like windows, where all you learn is how to use a GUI) youll never go back.

my point is that I use Windows.

I am just not using Linux. Simple as that. And won't. Until it competes with 7. Which it just doesn't at the moment.

you know, its actually easier to use terminal than cmd... you usually get an icon on your desktop. and Linux totally competes with Windows. after all, Linux has had 64bit architecture support way before windows came out with it... actually, it is still catching on in the Windows world, whereas most popular distros have had it for as long as i care to remember. but im not getting in to a OS war with you...

Yeah, Linux shell > Windows cmd.exe in terms of functionality. As for which is easier to use, Linux shell easier, because of the extra functionality.

And are you guys talking about which is easier to launch or something? Wow, 1 second difference. BIG WHOOP!!! Make a shortcut and stick it on your desktop if it really matters that much to you.

Windows has all the comparability and support, and that's why I'll stick to it. Want to run something in Linux... Oh no, doesn't work, only works in Windows.

Edited the previous post a bit. Linus shell easier to use.

trademark91 Wrote:...that's what wine is for

For one, it's inefficient, and for two, and a lot of things work incorrectly or simply don't work at all under Wine. If you're going to run Windows programs, it's much better to just run them in Windows.

And you can use Cygwin in Windows if you really like the Linux environment that much... But in the same reasoning as above, just use Linux.
