yes but are your front usb ports 2.0 or 1.0
theres a big speed difference and file transfer errors can happen quite alot in 1.0
Quote: I just can't transfer using the 2 usb port which is at the front where the reset and on/off switch button is and.. before anyone gonna said its spoilt, its not. I could use other devices at the front. I tried on my friend's computer and it does not have any problem whatsoever.
that means your psp is having trouble with your front usb ports also what device have you tried
as transfer rates differ with each device
you psp's usb cable could be bad or the memorystick coul need a good format
is it formatted as fat or fat32 as that can make a difference

I think that your front ports are not getting power. You will have to check the connections on the motherboard. Also, try cleaning them of dust and stuff.

Thank you very much for the replies :) Appreciate it
@ squee666
i believe its 2.0. I have tried thumbdrive and also the microsd adapter which is needed to transfer files to Nintendo lite and it doesn't have any problem on the front port. My psp memory stick = fat32.

There's only one connector to the front USB ports, so you can't do much about it, except pull it out and plug it back in. If you've got other devices in the front USBs, try taking them out. Otherwise, quite sure it's a power issue, and the source would most likely be the computer's PSU not supplying enough power to all the devices on board...

InfinitiProject Wrote:You could always check the manual or online for your PC to see if the front USB ports are 1.0 or 2.0 if it's prebuilt or search the motherboard model to see what kind of USB connectors it has. Or if you ever received that message about "This device can perform faster on USB 2.0" then you'll know that they are 1.0.
I've had the same problem some time back with a fat psp on my old PC stopping in the middle of transferring anything and come to find out that it was the 1.0 USB ports on the front.
Just check, my front is definitely 2.0 -_- man, what's wrong lol. Thanks for the great reply though
