WD drives are fine. WD, Maxtor, Seagate (I think Seagate owns Maxtor) are all the same.


I have 4 WD drives, my silent fans are louder than the drives.

Tigerdirect has 500GB drives for under $70.

lol today in college wee had to make make a pc with £100 budget
mine added to £525 with a amd 6000+ 2 core 3ghz processor a 7300gt  512mb and 2gb ram and a 17inch monitor and 500gb hd
without the printer and office 2008 student edition it was actually about £280 XD

Thanks for the ideas guys. I think I'm going to go with Seagate, since I have had no trouble with their HDD in my PS3.  I have had no experience with WD.

seems like you went WAY over budget!

probably better off finding a cheap refurb pentium 4 system LOL

Heh, yeah, new screen+case+PSU probably is close to £100 already » only choice would be to look 2nd hand.
