Very groundbreaking indeed this "openCL" technology
More like it's Adobe's fault. If something can be done on Mac, no reason it can't be done in Windows. Adobe just can't be f
ucked implementing it, probably because Windows isn't as popular as Mac for graphic designers.

nope...
That still goes to the NVIDIA GTX480
That's because the GTX480 is terrible and noone wants it. If there is any Nvidia card to definitely stay away from, 480 would be that card. It's that very 1st generation Fermi card, the one that uses massive amounts of energy and runs loud and hot as hell.
I mean it uses so much power your power bill will easily make up for the cheapness of the card. Power also translates into heat which translates into noise from the fan spinning faster.
Note: GTX 295 and Radeon 5970 are both DUAL GPU cards (internal crossfire/SLI), and both perform better than the 480. I mean when a single GPU card is eating more power than dual GPU cards, you know you should stay away from it.
By the way: if you need CUDA all the time, you should probably look into Nvidia Quadro cards. Those are designed for professionals who use it for the stuff you listed, and have far superior CUDA performance compared to any gaming oriented card.
