I think zinga mentioned somewhere that it may be a leak in some plugin/addon instead of the main thing.

If it is, I would suspect adobe for no real reason in particular except that it crashes frequently and seems to have problems.

I'm too lazy to run firefox in safe mode to test this theory right now, but maybe later I will...
