help recoloring icons

i have the vectorix theme but i changed the background to a dark one, so i wanted to changed the icons to white so i can see them... i changed them to white and when i flashed them on the psp, the sub icons changed to white but the main icons remained black... i also tried changing the color to grey but they didnt changed color anyway... please help :S
