I refuse to get some top-notch phone that has a million capabilities simply because there is more to go wrong. I know several people that have recently got new phones, I've saved their number, and then can't get hold of them 2 weeks down the line because their phone died, crashed, bricked, etc.

You must know some pretty dumb people, because it's not an easy task to brick a smart phone unless you're trying to. And even if they brick (provided your bootloader is still in tact on Android), it's pretty simple to reflash the firmware.

The cool thing about smart phones is that they allow you to remotely track their exact location. Some applications allow you to remotely sound an alarm, text you the pinpoint address of the phone, and even remotely brick the device. And who only uses their phone for EVERYTHING? In this day and age, if you don't have a TV, then you're probably homeless or about to die of old age. Also, they come with warranties.

Wiimote + BtStack. I can play games on my phone using a Wii Classic controller and Bluetooth.

You make some interesting points, but none of which convince me to buy a smartphone!

To be fair though, my first point about screwing a phone up was based on phones a little while back before proper 'smartphones'.

The second point about music, I actually meant people who walk around with a phone in their hand or pocket playing music with no earphones (ie, everyone can hear their dub-step poo poo via the original phone speakers) - I should've been clearer I guess.

Finally, do you really go to the trouble of playing phone games with a Wii remote?! How does the phone sit? Do you stand it up against a wall then sit 5 inches away, bashing the remote? Seems quite an effort to me, but then again, I don't know, well, anything about it lol. A pic please?


Maybe I am an old man when it comes to this! I like technology, don't get me wrong. I just don't like it all crammed into something that can fit in your pocket.
