Sign-ons for classes is a mad rush here.  I didn't know it first semester, but after that, I've always made sure that I'm there as soon as it opens up, sometimes getting up before 6am.  And you need to make sure you know exactly what slot you want, and a backup, cause the things fill up crazy fast as soon as it opens.
