Ok kiddies/oldies; it seems that i needed to be the one to befall misfortune today. First things first, I've applied to universities and unfortunately was rejected from most because i simply could not fulfill a language requirement (until the end, i got some elementary "certificate" saying i did a second language in my private school). In any case, yes, universities (in Canada anyway) WILL reject you no matter how good you are; as such, in my case i had the ability to get where i wanted in terms of academics, it was just the fooking language T_T. So, now i have to go to a branch university that's located in a rural sort of area; my parents paying for my rather crummy housing and the whole fact i will live on my own.
Supposedly people have bad things to say about the branch university, but, since it's a sister school of the more prestigious UBC (located in canada) i decided that no matter how many hooligans which would attend okanagan I WILL complete my courses.
In any case, because I'm usually a guy who likes to stay up late (actually i stay up for a good reason...) i also get up late. Uh oh, bad idea, because when the course registrations came around i was 2 hours past the time you should register for courses.
So? Why is this bad? Well, courses are all decided based on your preferences; as such, if you don't put your foot in the door of the class you want, the door will slam shut in your face. This measly two hours could actually decide whether or not you will go to the university you want due to people trying to cram their ways and take spots. Unfortunately this happened to me and now I've ended up with courses (lectures) in the morning and my labs related to my science courses in the afternoon.
Spoon. If that wasn't bad enough, I'm also on a waiting list for one of my physics courses because i was too slow to attend it, not only that; now i have to take two English courses based on narratives and short stories (I'm basically not taking regular English). Gaw.
So what is all this complaining boiling down to?
Take the initiative, if you don't, someone else will.
