I just got Modnation to run from usb using cfw5.00M33-6.
by the way. driving and pick-ups are very similar to Mario Kart...
For CFW5.00M33-6: what did i do?
1. decrypt/patch EBOOT.BIN with edecrypt.1.4.0
2. rename decrypted EBOOT.BIN to EBOOT.OLD
2. (decrypt LIBFONT.PRX) use the one from GodEater!
EDIT: the libfont.prx could not be decrypted so i used the decrypted libfont.prx from GodEater
3. open the ISO in UMDGEN
4. delete EBOOT.BIN, delete LIBFONT.PRX.
5. copy EBOOT.OLD, prometheus EBOOT.BIN and prometheus.prx to PSP_GAME/SYSDIR
6. copy LIBFONT.PRX to PSP_GAME/USRDIR/DATA/PRX
7. Choose: File, Save As, Uncompressed (*.iso), name it...
8. Wait, until building of the new image is ready, DONE!
So, if I'm not mistaking, this can be done for all 6.20 games :)

Forgot about it, but it was in the post/fix for God Eater
You have to hexedit the .prx you want to decrypt first.
Open the prx in a hexeditor and remove everything before ~PSP, then save the file. After that you can decrypt the file with prx decrypter
