Build the most expensive desktop challenge
People are always looking for the best value, but really, how expensive can you get?

Requirements:
  • CPU must be x86/x86-64 based
  • Can only have one motherboard (so no grids)
  • Must be a "desktop" machine (though you can use a different form factor than ATX)
  • All components must *do something*, ie no LEDs.  I'll exclude cooling solutions (so you can't have huge platinum/gold systems) as well as the case
  • Following on from above, the system must actually work (obviously) and each component has to be active (ie no random stray components)
  • This is only for the box - do not include monitors, keyboards, printers, airplanes, etc
  • I have to use some sort of "benchmark" so that you don't just pick the most expensive thing you can find - you must use the cheapest price for the component from http://staticice.com.au/ (if you have a better place, please post)

Do you think you can break the $100k mark?
