There have been rumors that the 80GB was being discontinued, as Best-Buy stopped restocking it, and Gamestop had a leaked document about dropping it from the inventory. Well, it's official, the 80GB PS3 isn't discontinued, just replaced, with something far better.

A METAL GEAR SOLID 4/DUALSHOCK 3 BUNDLE!! They're dropping the current $499 package, and replacing it with a bundle that comes with Metal Gear Solid 4 and a DualShock 3 controller. But get this, the best part is that the price ISN'T DROPPING AT ALL. For the same $500 you get THE system-selling game for the PS3 packed in. With the awesome new controller.

Anyway, it comes out June 12, and as you can tell, I'm a bit giddy about it Hihi

This is just the excuse I need to save up $500. Awesome system plus 2008 Game Of The Year? count me in.

Well, that deal is DEFINITELY a huge help. I want more people in the PS3 community. If there was better chatting and game joining capabilities, as well as more people using the PS3, I'd play it a lot more. A huge reason I spend more time on my 360 is because all my best friends just play 360. Warhawk is my favorite multiplayer game, and I'd love more people to play with. This deal will get a good number of people. Regardless, I am still happy with my launch model 60gig. EPers! YOU NO LONGER HAVE AN EXCUSE TO NOT BE ON MY BUDDY LIST ON PS3!!

i just checked my iCal and from the looks of it I'm gonna have 2,000$ so I'm gonna have two PS3's apparently and maybe even a Wii

Well, come June 12, I'll have a PS3 and MGS4. By the way, isn't your PSN store account also the one you'd use on PS3? Cause i have a registered account at the PC-PSP store. metalgear0899

i think they might've messed with the dates, MGS4 itself is due 6/17
