As I've mentioned in the past, the only hope is hardware accelerated decoding.

At the moment, As far as I know, no-one knows how to do hardware accelerated decoding of DivX/XviD streams (though last time I checked, cooleyes made some move onto it).

hardware accelerated decoding...hmmm.. *yells* GOOGLEE WHERE ARE YOU?!?!

Edit:-  ahhhh sooo hardware accelerated video decoding justs means that wee put the stress of decoding on the GPUs instead of the CPU!  thus giving a better performance and faster decoding?
