Might check it out later. There are other Winamp clones out there, but I dunno how many share the plugin support.

i don't think XMplay was meant to be a clone. it started as a XM module player and moved on from there.

and when winamp started messing with modules (like they sounded wrong) so i had to switch.

Glad to hear it's not just me who finds MM unreliable. Can be very frustrating.

I'm adamant that it has the best library system though. That and more than good enough tagging.

Edit: Looks like there's a MM 4.1 Beta, will give that a go~

Last time I read about it was something about Microsoft were in talks of buying Winamp. Not sure if they want to save the good old one. They killed their own messaging service for no reason, so I don't know what to think about it.

Haven't missed winamp lately. Since I took the plunge with Google Music, all my music is uploaded and streamable. Win amp can't touch itnthough, but reliant on a good connection I have a desktop app that uses the Google Api. So yeah. I heard about it, shed a single tear and then moved on. AOL made it rubbish anyway.

That was unsurprising after they bought Skype. Skype replaced Messenger. (That being said the Skype client is really not that great)

I highly doubt they will buy what's left of Winamp - there's nothing of future value for them there.
