Shounen protagonists usually have a strong sense of honor too, they won't cheat or resort to dirty tricks.

Oh yeah I hate too.

Shounen protag 75% of the time = some retarded white knight running into disadvantageous fights with his head filled with hot air and lofty ideals.

Aw, so it isn't a date.
Fuck dates, got to enjoy your single life while you still can.  Can't do shit any more with women and kids.

Now that I'm back I'm too tired, need to sleep.

For some, it allows them to do a lot more!
You get free cooked meals and even free spoon feeding.  You obviously haven't watched enough harem shows.

RE: ZiNgA's Quick Review thread
Strike Witches movie exceeded my expectations (and wasn't just a summary of the TV series).  Not a bad movie overall.

Kore wa Zombie S2 ep11: doesn't really continue the story - is somewhat just like an OVA.

The World God Only Knows Tenri Chapter: Not a bad extension, although one may think it should be a one-episoder, it seems to suggest there's a continuation.

Not that your opinion changes anything, but shounen is one of my favorite genres >_>.

Kami Nomi Tenri-hen 02 finishes that arc.  At the end they announce that TWGOK season 3 should air in 2013.  Also there's a Nakagawa Kanon spinoff.

Onii-chan Dakedo [whatever] should've totally ended at episode 11 lol.

RE: ZiNgA's Quick Review thread
Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni
Interesting mystery type plot, and the way it's arranged is quite unique too.  The first story got me a little freaked out, but the others didn't for me.  The harem-like setting works interestingly with the underlying plots - I think I enjoyed this aspect of it overall.
The first season doesn't really reach much of conclusion or really pass some sort of climax - this is left to the second season which completes the story.  The OVAs (quite a number of them) are quite decent, and I quite enjoyed one of the stories in one of them actually.
However a few things don't quite seem to add up, or I'm clearly missing something etc - this probably affects judgement towards this series the most:
Spoiler:
  • First chapter: one may presume that the Yamainu was interested in killing Keichi because he was investigating the murders?  although this seems to be quite a flimsy reason, especially since they do nothing about the chief investigator (I suppose he's a harder target, but shouldn't really be an issue).  What I don't get is why they decided to leave the note Keichi wrote behind on the clock, merely tearing out a part - I'd think that just destroying the whole note would've been a lot simpler
  • I'm not sure why Rika suggested that Keichi held onto the bat...
  • Second/fifth chapter: Rika dies, and you'd expect chaos to occur within 48 hours of that (as said by Miyo), however this doesn't seem to be the case (Keichi & Rena see Shion over 48 hours after Rika dies)
  • Third chapter: I can't quite figure out how this story works.  From the beginning, where there's someone who is executed with nails through their fingers and intestines pulled out, to the weirdness of the uncle who was or wasn't killed.  I did wonder if it may have had something to do with memories being swapped across worlds (to explain why Keichi thought he killed the uncle but everyone else thought he was at the festival) but that doesn't seem to work (the hole which had been dug up).
  • Sixth chapter: in the second season, the first episode, Rena appears in adult form, years? after the mass killing.  How she survived really is a mystery, and even then, one would've thought the Yamainu would get her, but also, Rika has presumably been dead for quite some time and she shows no sign of the disease (perhaps the medical attention she received countered this?)
  • Eighth chapter: Rika shows evidence of knowing that Keichi giving the stuffed animal to Rena causes the tragedy in the second chapter, however she was killed before Shion revealed this.  Perhaps Hanyuu figured this out and passed it on.  But one does wonder, why couldn't Hanyuu have told Rika that the Yamainu was after her?
  • General: Why is Oishi never affected by the disease?  A possible theory is that he lives outside the contamination area and never stays in it long enough to contract it?  First part seems likely, otherwise the "poison gas" explanation of everyone dying wouldn't work, though the second part is just a guess.
  • I wonder how Rika knows that
Overall quite enjoyable and unique.  3.5 stars

Onii-chan Dakedo Ai Sae Areba Kankeinai yo ne
Has some fun bits.  Characters keep true to their limited personalities and generally focus on each character is fairly even like many similar shows.  Seems to be fairly standard to its genre and doesn't seem to be particularly different.
2.5 stars
