RE: PS Vita Impressions Thread
Still haven't seen a Vita display unit in a store.
Have found some 3DSes (finally). Can't see the 3D effect myself, and the slider seems funky. Can't see 3D effect on the 3D phones on display either.
Meh.

RE: PS Vita Impressions Thread
Managed to find one. Didn't find it to be that light, though that could've been because how it was attached.
Buttons are now clicky - I probably have a preference to the gummy buttons on the old PSP. I like the rounded off L/R triggers better. Back touchpad feels smooth - was hoping that it would be easier to distinguish the edges of the touchpad than they are. Start/Select button moved - I kinda prefer the PSP positioning because you don't have to curl your thumb to get there, or, if you're holding the PSP between your ring and middle fingers on your right hand, you can reach them easier with your thumb.
Otherwise, feels mostly like a slightly larger yet thinner PSP.
Even has the same idea about long pointless animations when launching a game. Loading times are slow as always...

RE: PS Vita Impressions Thread
finally got a vita last weekend, the sounds impresses me and you can simultaneously play music and a vita game in the same time, the OLED seems vibrant even the surroundings were very bright (unlike in the 3DS i stll need to push to brightness 3 so that i can able to see the screen), my major complain is the touch pad at the back, sometimes i push it unnecessarily that sometimes i need my fingers to relax, otherwise the system is good specially playing with videos, now im alternating playing with 3DS and a Vita, lol
the browser in the Vita can load fast, but i hope in the next firmware update it can be opened when a vita game is open so that i can open gamefaqs or something, hehehe

hi zinga, did you try some ar games in it? you can also view some 3D effects in the Mii plaza (inside the picture puzzle), otherwise if there are demo form of Resident Evil Revelations, its one that got the good implementation of 3D effect

I tried Mario Kart and I struggle to see any 3D effect. Turning the slider on seems to make vertical lines appear down the screen, and sliding it causes these to shift. Couldn't see a 3D effect, then again, I can't seem to see 3D on anything without glasses.
Could be to do with me having uneven eyes and just plain f'd up vision.
3DS is nearly half the price of a non-3G Vita here though.

RE: PS Vita Impressions Thread
Not even seen one for real yet haha!
I'm a retro gamer, I barely play any PSP games as it is. I have a 16GB memstick packed with my custom PSX backups, and my emulators (picodrive, snes9xtyl, gpsp, and masterboy), so my main interest would be how good the display is on a vita.
If it did get hacked, I'd be curious as to whether it could run Daedalus (N64 emulator) any better.

RE: PS Vita Impressions Thread
Got my own Vita :D Got a Wifi model pretty cheap, $350 NZD about $30 -$60 cheaper than alot of places.
Im loving the thing. The OS is awesome, I really do like it. Flows reaallly niiice.
The OLED is delicious and i love the analog sticks. Been downloading demos and stuff like crazy to try everything out.
I feel its lacking a bit in some areas though, like the settings menu. Not as many settings as I thought, like I can't view battery information etc or nickname the console and such. However nothing that can't be added with updates though, hopefully.Stuff like the music playrer and video player seem a bti simple too. No grouping songs, playlists and visualizers etc However you can play music pretty much while doing anything so maybe that's why. Just thought there would be more options like the psp.
Got a 32GB memory stick with it, holy poo poo those things are tiny. Like seriously tiny.
Love the multitasking, that's real coool.
Battery life seems to be fine so far too. I was playing on it from like 11pm to something like 2:30am the next morning and it still had just under half charge left. Was doing all sorts too, like music and games while browsing the store and sending messages. So happy with that.
Can't wait for more games :D Keen for Gravity Rush and Little Big Planet next month.

Yeah don't get the "leave out most of the stuff wee had on the last console" thing.
