I'd probably shy away from an Atom box for a game server, and $60/mo is probably a bit much for just an Atom processor. You also probably don't need unlimited transfer either.

Don't expect much reliability from free hosts, but if it's just a website you're messing with, it doesn't matter much.

Checking it out. So I've put it up successfully and got everything configured (dreamweaver connects automatically and saves my files, etc.)

I'd go with what Zinga said but if you want, I can host you. You just need a domain. You can get a free one from http://co.cc/.

Yikes.

Zinga's solution is just fine for now, but it's REALLY slow (free hosting gonna free host).

It's pretty obvious that many things confuse me, I still don't even know what mySQL is (from what I know, it's a database structure of some sort), oh well.

you won't mess it up in a vps so no problemo

server information... talking about co.cc correct?... just log into your account
the page you should be on is manage domains
select your domain

beside your domain name it should say set up

then select zone record

host: just the text input then click somewhere else and it'll automatically add your url

TTL 1H

Type A

Value 206.217.137.221 <which will redirect to zinga burgas blog temporarily~

If you use my IP, it'll always redirect to my blog until I add an exception...
If you're going on Joomla's server, you need to use his IP.

lol, I'm just using it to fiddle around, just waiting on joomla to tell me the server IP I guess.

Oh yeah, and thanks for the help aspheric/cirehpsa, I didn't really understand all that jargon but I was able to link to Zinga's website, I assume that I'll do this for joomla's server.

If it's just for development and testing then it's just as easy to run it on xampp which means you could use localhost or still point a domain name to it. Plus it saves from having to upload new files all the time. It also has the added bonus of unlimited bandwidth, databases and file storage.
