Ofcourse, you can't expect the anime to look like that.  No anime has ever looked better than the VN source, not even the highest production ones.

Err... besides for Higurashi and Umineko, but that's because the Higurashi VN looks horror bad.... and some really old stuff like Kanon, because it's really old, and the anime isn't.

Everything looked fine up to now, maybe a bit plain, and lacking in fine details (which considering the age of this show, isn't all that bad).

Also, no, I do not want 3 seconds of self advertisement at the start.  And if you had the time to make that intro thing, as if you don't have time to search up the correct name.  But Your-Mom is worse, so Lunar it is then.

Normally, when people say some show's production quality is dropping, I can hardly notice the difference.  But this is goddamn obvious.  Did someone flush the weekly budget down the toilet or something?

There's a graphics patch now?  Is it official?  Because I refused to play that stuff purely because the graphics.  


Playing Sharin no Kuni now, the main character in that is totally awesome.... well, at least so far.  (Note: main characters in VNs are more often than not... clueless good-at-nothing idiots).

Well I'm sure they're from the PS2 version including the backgrounds while the ones that were removed are just still kept in the game.
So I think the graphics are official but the patch isn't.
I think the music was also taken from the PS2 version.
Go ask Goshi about it, he was the one who found it.

Finding it once I know about it is trivial.  The problem is knowing about it.  Thanks.

But I still probably won't get to it.  Limited time, and I have to finish off Ever 17 and Sharin no Kuni before any chance of starting on that (and Cross Channel is higher on the list, and if Seinarukana finishes translating, well, that's even higher on the list).

Under my criteria not that much has been changed in the anime, except some events are out of order and some other things otherwise the general story is the same so far.

So I'll probably just watch the anime instead.  Takes less time.

"Crescent Love" was produced by Daume. Hmm, I know a lot of people mention Minami-ke's animation got worse and worse as it got to it's second and third seasons ~ but those screenshots are a prime example... that's a god-damn disgrace :/ (in my eyes, rather horrifying!)

Nanoha is one case where the DVD releases fix a lot of the problems that the TV production rush caused - Is episode one a difference source from the second and third? It doesn't have the bullchocolate-i  (LOL wordfilter) watermark.

Wonder if that has DVD releases though... too many anime go by without getting DVD releases. Though "The 12 episode anime has been acquired by Sentai Filmworks for the North American market. It will be released in conjunction with Section 23 Films on June 1st, 2010." << it's not on Amazon.com where most of Sentai's stuff usually is.. wonder what happened to it.

Yes they did fix it for the DVD release.  They practically REDREW the whole episode (which would have costed them a lot more money than they saved earlier).

From further research... it seems like they outsourced the animation work to others... and changed the companies a lot (which is probably what caused the very inconsistent art between episodes).

Don't think Minami-ke would have been nearly as bad as this, otherwise there would have been raging everywhere.  There actually was raging everywhere for Crescent Love, I just wasn't there at the time...
