RE: Quick theme question
Interesting - it has a .jpg extension, but is really a PNG.
How'd you export it?
24-bit is basically the same as 32-bit, just without transparency. 16-bit probably won't help much, but IDK. Here's an 8-bit one - the edges are a bit jagged though, as it can't use the smoothing effects with your full colour image.

I see... Thank you for explaining that for me... ^^
Hope this doesn't poo poo out like the png-8 that I made in photoshop.
oh yeah i don't really understand the jpg extension either it's just how tinypic works aparently... You go to save the image though and it saves as the orriginal state...
I moved all my pics there as I didn't have to worry about how much stuff I upload and about the bandwidth... Since they don't really have limits.

RE: Quick theme question
Make your image in photoshop and try to work on the edges so they're really smooth and no extra color around them then convert the image from RGB to index (set the palette to local (selective) and lower the colors number as much as posible) then save your image as an 8-bit BMP now open your saved image with Paint.NET and just save it again as an 8-bit BMP (I DON'T NOW WHY BUT THIS WILL REMOVE THE WHITE BACKGROUND AROUND YOUR PICTURE WHEN YOU WANT TO SET IT AS A PICTURE WITH RCO EDIT) then in rco edit tick the option for make first color transparent an then just change the image you want with this image this image will take a very low resource l manged to make a 7 character slideshow with 7 Hugh icons in my theme which l might realse in a few days with this trick
I still remember the world from the eyes of a child, Slowly those feelings where clouded by what I know now, Where has my heart gone? An uneven trade for the real world...

RE: Quick theme question
I'm a theme maker. You probably don't know me but feel free to see the things I have made. A piece of advice when making themes. It is best not to use images with a lot of curves in it. If so then try and include it into a box. I found that curves and round edges are never easy to work with. They tend to always need to be large file sizes to get best quality results. I'm not saying that you can't but you will find yourself in a dilemma trying to get it right.
I tend to just go with Photoshop and save as .PNG and that's it. No adjustments to 8, 16 or any of the other bits available.

RE: Quick theme question
thank you all for your detailed explanations
@ WoobiE I'm willing to put the time into this even though it's just a test.

That sounds really impressive… I only want to stick 4-5 maybe 6 pics since I can’t find enough pics of her and this theme won’t really have anything else that’s oversized, so yeah… sounds good!
Thank you for answering my questions so far.

RE: Quick theme question
Its been a while since I've attempted making a theme but you could use Photoshop and make a 480x272 (possibly bigger or smaller depending on what your doing) image placing the text where you want it to show up for the theme and then placing it in the place of the sub vsh icons (UMD, Memory Stick, etc;). Sorry, I'm not as good as explaining stuff as I am doing it. Then again this post might be completely useless cause I'm also thinking that doesn't fix your problem and then maybe it does but I'm sure someone will tell you something better.
Haven't been in the PSP scene since DA quit making firmware.
