Don't see how using its own libraries really matters though - decoders should all give the same result right?
Not with the core player, I had an add-on that did a better job of managing. I just can't remember what it's called.
Nor can I, but it does sound better with good speakers. The different sounds in the music or more pronounced, crisp and clean.
I'm not saying use it as a main player, but the times you want to listen to music instead of just having background music I like VLC.

Might want to see what filters are being applied - a number try to improve crispness by emphasising the treble a bit more.
Can also look at foobar's WASAPI output plugin if you suspect the OS to be interfering with output.

RE: Rec me a music player.
i have a few problems with foobar, it seems that the way it read IDv3 tags is different from itunes, i got a bunch of Kanji tags (which I've converted to romaji a long time ago) or no tag at all. anyone know a plugin can solves this?
2nd: is there a check and uncheck system like itunes? because i have tons of instrumental tracks, don't want em on shuffle, but they are useful sometimes.
and 3rd. the UI, i can't get the songs to appear on the filter at all, can anyone show me the light?

Having trouble display anything at all, or just non-English text?
If latter, these might help:

Put into a different playlist?

What filter?

trying not to do that. =/ if that's the case i'd rather delete em all.

Am still not too sure what you mean. It displays the tags (malformed) before you edit them - and what do you get after you edit them? What are the tags meant to be - just English text?
Is this ID3v1 or ID3v2?
I don't think MP3 ever really had proper encoding handling in tags, so my guess is that it really depends on your local character set to have them displayed correctly.
Heartless141 Wrote:trying not to do that. =/ if that's the case i'd rather delete em all.
Then I don't get what you're trying to do. If don't want to have them in shuffle, you stick them out of the list of songs you want to shuffle. When you want to listen to them, then you just switch to the other playlist and play them.
Can't help you with the Columns UI since I don't have it...

RE: Rec me a music player.
when i got the mp3s, some of em have Japanese or just random symbols tags. (some extremely old ones i got off stepmania/OSU! simfile). random symbols ones those i downloaded on XP without japanese font installed.
so i edited em manually in itunes. but now if i add em to Foobar, all of my edits are gone, and all the tags is random symbols and japanese.
hopefully you get what i meant, I'm not good with explaining.

Oh okay, I think I get what you're saying. Basically the edits you made to your songs a while ago seem to have vanished, and foobar is displaying the original unedited tags, right?
That could be iTunes not editing stuff properly. Plus the fact that MP3 tags are a bit of a mess. There's ID3v1 and ID3v2 - I'm guessing iTunes only reads and writes one of them, whereas foobar is reading the other; or maybe the edits you made in iTunes only affects it's internal library and never actually changed the file. You can use a mass tagger to copy over the tagging info, if it's actually stored in one of the tags. If iTunes has its own internal DB, then you're kinda stuck and I doubt you can carry them over to any player.
Check the file by right-click in foobar, Properties, Properties tab and check the Tag Type.
EDIT: oh okay, glad you got it :P
