feinicks Wrote:If there is a Troll in the game, then he is boring and unhelpful many times (especially in the hands of a semi noob; in hands of a noob, he's a feeder..), but if a good player plays then he can be insane.
Not really. Troll's pretty easy to play and the play style is pretty standard so skill doesn't really show through. I mean you just farm all day normally, as for battle, you pretty much run at the enemy and attack. Sure there are some decision making and such involved, but all in all, doesn't require a great player, you just need to be not poo poo. While stuff like priestess/VS really shows through if in the hands of an excellent player.
feinicks Wrote:I do agree that most games are decided by the mid game (by about level 16-20, mostly), but almost all carry heroes, if played properly are good enough by then. All that Drow really needs are Treads and Logain's and she's ready for really team ganks. Luna too is an awesome hero due to her glaives (really easy farming + harass) and ulti. (Eclipse has to one of the best ulti.. can easily kill or at least severely damage 5 heroes, on level 3). Juggernaut too...
Drow, Luna and Juggs are just fine.
But troll, even if he is good late game, you're not really helping all that much until then. So that increases the chance of your team being at a disadvantage when it is endgame. You may as well play a carry that does decently early game as well.
I just don't really like troll because he doesn't really do anything until the very end, I mean the similarly super-powerful endgame heros like PA, void or spider at least have blink/jump/invis and skills that can slow or stop. Which also means people can simply run from troll if they know they can't win. It's much harder to run from other carries with slows/stuns/blinks/disables.
feinicks Wrote:However, I personally don't play him. If I need to pick a stunner or strength, one of my picks is Sven.
Strength stunner... hmm... I like Slardar. Decent stunner, amp is good skill, and he is as good a carry as the lategame agi heros if you do manage to get him farmed up (most games you probably won't have the time though).
Vanguard/hood and/or vlads depending on the situation, finish treads, blink, hyper, deso... if you managed to make it this far, you're probably doing like 200-300 real damage a hit (thanks to your -21armor) on stuff with a fast attack speed and chance to bash. Blink, stun, amp, beat them for 300 damage a hit + lifesteal + bash, sprint if they're not bashed/dead. Probably almost as powerful as an equally geared Troll, but much better early game, also much better at chasing enemies down or running away.
feinicks Wrote:I don't usually play Zeus but till the HoD is made, he is really irritating! Once I killed 4 players with drow (they were damaged, but yea) and then started running back for health and then Zues' ulti hit me... :/ This fudgeer was only level 16 while everyone else was 20-25, but he stayed in the base (lol... he was a noob and one team member is a pro, so he told him what to do, when). So the entire team would sacrifice to get my teams healths below a certain limit and then BOOM! :/ (yea... wee hadn't made HoDs and all :P)
Zeus is vicious because that static field stuff rapes people up in team fights really fast if they let zeus live and s
pam. If he does arc, bolt, wrath, arc in quick succession, that rips off 44% health from everyone in 800 radius, plus whatever damage his nukes did, in like 2.5 seconds (though you may want to save up ulti for later). So yeah, in team fights, Zeus is dangerous caster, good idea to aim/disbale him. In a similar fashion, can also spike you dead pretty good if you're not on high HP, or if you're a soft int/agi hero.
feinicks Wrote:I really doubt I know anyone who still plays -em. Its just too stupid.
The server I play on, em seems decently popular actually. And it's fun once in a while to play some em and rape some n00bs. I mean like 1/2 the em players here don't even last hit, they just auto-attack.
