Save up for a second gen iPod touch if you can. The second is a huge advancement over the rest, and if you must spend hundreds of currency, spend it on newer things.
But i still think it's an overhyped piece of garbage

without the speaker it's not good. ipod itouch nowadays also consider as gaming platform without it seems useless (mute), you have to wear headset everytime you play games, music and video tha's lame.
