RE: My Latest PC Component :D
I believe the X58 chipset can do multi GPU solutions for both nVidia and AMD, so I wouldn't use that to hold back.

What do you mean by Intel + ATI and wanting to get a nVidia card?

At the moment, people seem to be recommending the Radeon 5850, but it's not a nVidia card.  Perhaps wait for the GT300 series if you must have nVidia.

If you're a...

SUPER ENTHUSIAST - 2x Radeon 5970 Crossfire!!! (5970=5870x2)
Hardcore Gamer/Enthusiast - Radeon 5850
Regular Gamer - Radeon 5770
Light Gamer - Geforce 9600 / Radeon 4670

The 5xxx line because they support DX11, and prepares you for the future.  NVidia will probably release their DX11 cards sometime later, which you may also want to consider if they become available before you get your money, may also cause prices to fall since they will be more competition.

i7 is _really_ a waste with a 5770, unless you don't game much.  Apparently 4870 beats it...

Go 5850 then.

Actually, fuck that.  Sometime soon, the Radeon 5970 will be released, it's a dual GPU solution made of 2x 5870's.  Go buy 2x Radeon 5970, and run them in Crossfire!!!  You will have a total of 4x 5870 cores in your computer!!!!  Put V1's GTX295 to the trash heap (considering a single 5870 alone is almost as good as a GTX295), and run Crysis @ 300FPS!!!
Spoiler for You need 2 of these:
This thing's like 30cm long or something...

Core i7 wouldn't be good enough then.... What a conundrum.... Solution => Donate your system to me!
