Is it bad that while I'm working on a new chapter for my book, I write this sentence: "“What?” he suddenly asked aloud, moar a groan than anything, and sprang up in bed."

I feel so ashamed.

Alright, give me a few days. Maybe a week, depending on if I decide to play video games instead of writing. I also have another essay due Monday, planning on doing it tomorrow or Saturday.

It's your book, you can put any form of spellings/grammar/styles/etc in there, if you believe it to enhance the nature of your writing.

Unless this is actually for school...

No, it's not for school, but if I want it to be published I don't think "moar" would be acceptable.

If it doesn't actually add anything, or help with the mood of the story, then you're correct - better off using standard spelling.
