i bought a netbook to help me with my studies, i thought it would be easier to use in school and easier on the back and shoulder (my laptop weighs a ton) but i ended up getting annoyed with the screen, to the point where i gave away my netbook because it saw so little use

Saves you converting.  Like why some people want HD on those small portable players.
12" screens are becoming more common too.  Most will have VGA out.
General laptops are too big and bulky for me.  My 1KG netbook is smaller than an A4 shit of paper (flat) and is fairly thin - very convenient to take anywhere and beats browsing with a phone.

Oh, regarding PSP replacement, 1KG is a bit heavy to conveniently hold for a while.  Also not that good for bed, but usable.  Mainly the keyboard gets in the way a bit, and isn't the easiest thing to control when lying down.  It's okay, but PSP is easier to use.
