£33 for each set including next day delivery  so £66 in total.. i order em last night at 9pm got em this morning.

sweet turn around on that order!

software wise on 64bit you shouldnt have any problems...cs3 runs fantastic, cinema4d runs  al wiht 64bit exe, i play alot of games and never had a problem other than crysis wars 64bit can't play online because there is no punkbuster for 64bit, but the 32bit runs anyways ...

not sure what programs you are wondering will work, but it should be good.

RE: RAM RAM RAM.
go for x64 if you can, cs4 x64 For the win (cold boots in less than 3 seconds)

and the advantages of x64 is mainly performance, but eats more ram than x86

and you may be careful if you use old software since 16 bit is not available in x64 (it happened to me few times)

and the drivers are a major pain in the donkey, it sucks big time...

RE: RAM RAM RAM.
wow this is nice timing, today i was just planning to upgrade my RAM aswell, having only 2gb in my laptop. i was only gonna get another 2gb Ram stick which would obviously give me 3gb total, and i was going to do this because having 32bit Vista, i probably wouldn't get the most out of 4gb..
but now i think I'll go for the 4gb and then dual boot my current x86 Vista with either Windows 7 x64 or Vista x64.
the only reason i wouldn't reinstall either of the x64 versions over my current x86 vista is because i just prefer keeping my legit version aswell. and i really can't be bothered having to deal with all those windows genuine cracks for a base OS.

oh sweet, I've only read of Vista 32bit only being able to recognise 3-3.5 if you have 4gb installed..
I'm in Australia, so I'm thinking of getting 2x this ram:
Kingston 2gb 667MHz DDR2 from Mwave

RE: RAM RAM RAM.
I believe video RAM is mapped into main memory, but there seems to be something else taking up the recognisable amount of RAM.  I have 4GB with a 512MB video card, but 32-bit or 64-bit with /maxmem=4096 only recognise 3.25GB (I use hibernation, so I have to limit myself with the maxmem switch).

For 64-bit vs 32-bit - advantages/disadvantages:
+ Slightly faster performance
+ More than 4GB addressable memory
- Drivers, mainly for older devices, may be hard to find
- Application compatibility - mainly for apps which interact with low levels of the system (just find 64-bit versions of these)
- No 16-bit support (use DosBox for DOS apps, or VirtualBox for Win16 apps)
- WOW64 virtualisation quirks? - unconfirmed I guess, though I've had some speed issues running ZSNES on XP64 - otherwise, all other 32-bit apps I've run have no major issues
- More memory/HDD space usage (but if you've got plenty of both...)

Would go 64-bit for the performance if you can get the drivers.
