RE: screwed up comp
lol, just reread your first post. NEVER EVER, EVER use the install operating system option in partition magic it is completely pointless and it does things like this, pray it hasn't wiped your old OS.

RE: screwed up comp
^^yeah id partition it with partition magic or a like program in windows first just make it NTFS.. usually it reboots and does all the work and restsrts again and its partitioned... then if you want to boot linux as well load the linux installer disc and reformat the partition you just made to a linux compatible partition then install linux and its boot loader should take over xps and give you the choice to choose between either... hope you didnt lose your data

exactly what i was thinking, good luck trying what he said, its usually safer to backup all your files and then with the xp cd or a linuz cd just make partitions and put the proper os in each one, you can only dual boot in pc :P
always ask for help in forums and/or search in google, also use common sense most of this stuff is usually becomes pretty obvious if you read the instructions or do some sort of research

RE: screwed up comp
Wrong beaner, using a third party app to resize a partition so they have some free space to install whatever OS they were wanting is far more reliable than leaving it to a built in partitioner on an OS disk(indeed you can't even resize partitions in most).
What was stupid was using the install OS option in partition magic which never works and is completely unnecessary. All you ever need to install another OS is some blank partition space, the installer will always allow you to create the partitions.

RE: screwed up comp
It's very old, I'm not that mad or anything.
And... What if I don't know my admin password?
Also, it ask me for what installation I want, I just choose one. Is that right?
And I will remember never to use that option again. :D
