RE: Finally got a new Memstick + Tried Lightscribe
Quote:The center of every LightScribe disc has a special code that allows the drive to know the precise rotational position of the disc. This in combination with the drive hardware allows it to know the precise position from the center outwards, and the disc can be labeled while spinning at high speed using these references. It also serves a secondary purpose: The same disc can be labeled with the same label again, several times. Each successive labeling will darken the blacks and generally produce a better image, and the successive burns will register up perfectly. However, using the Control Panel to modify the printing parameters will give images with higher contrast.

Might try the Control Panel mentioned in that...
EDIT: there's just a "burn darker" option - dunno how well it goes. Says it takes longer, so I'm guessing it spends more time burning each place. Try it out later when I get to actually burn something...

RE: Finally got a new Memstick + Tried Lightscribe
Update on LightScribe. Just tried it with the enhanced contrast option in the LightScribe Control Panel - the burnt image looks WAY better than with the option off. Takes slightly longer (20 minutes as opposed to 15 minutes) but well worth the wait.
By the way, using Verbatim discs on an ASUS burner.
