PSP-DEVOLUTION IS NOT A MODCHIP. IT IS A PRETTY SOPHISTICATED USB-JTAG PROGRAMMER FOR A LOT OF NAND FLASH ICs.

does that mean that the chip is basically just for downgrading and unbricking?

ill wait for it to become useful to chip. anduh maybe i won't even do it and save for the psplite

I seriously doubt that there is anything on that chip other than the ability to edit/program the NAND Flash. Not really a problem though. Other than that, there isn't really much that can be added via a mod chip unless its a massive flash.
