Personally, the PSP's dynamic normalizer isn't too bad (I've heard some pretty bad ones). But I find the volume adjusting noticeable (and a little disturbing at times) so I generally like to have it off.

i just find it annoying. thre's a slight delay between the volume of the song changing and the dynamic normaliser compensating for it. so i keep it off. also it interferes with the dynamics of songs, dynamics that have been put in for a reason. don't mess with music!!!
