Ok, if I'm not mistaken, gpSP is an emulator. So is VBA.

So how is one emulator compatible with another? That doesn't make sense.

the save files they produce van be interchanged. so if you save on the PSP you can continue playing on the PC if you copy the file

RE: Console OR Emulation?
^That's the same with all battery (saveram) files.

I doubt savestates can be interchanged, but I may be wrong (VBA gzips it's states, and saves cheat data into the file, though VBA can loaded non-gziped states).

Not really since all they have to worry about are they games they make available to buy through the PS3, which isn't very many right now.  The compatibility is okay right now, alot of games work flawlessly while others have minor glitchs, and some just crash randomly or can't be run at all.  Compatibility has changed with each official firmware though, so some games work better on the older firmwares, and some better on newer firmwares.  That's why there is a plugin that lets you select which version of the emulator to load for each game, it hasn't been updated yet though so only two of the older versions can be loaded on 3.40 OE-A.

As for what I prefer, emulation for older consoles only.  Pretty much anything older than current generations consoles I don't mind emulating, although I still like playing the console if I own it.  But emulating newer consoles is not only a hassle sometimes, but also kind of awkward on alot of games (the controls).

I'm not disappointed in you, I'm disappointed in myself, for believing in you.
