Ok, assuming that u want to play a game, would u rather play it on a console, or emulate it on computer?

Vote under the assumption that u own both the console, and a computer strong enough for emulation.

Bon't vote based on something like "i don't have console, therefore emulation". The purpose of this poll is to see what people would prefer, when they can do both. Not whether people owns console x or not.

===============================================================================================
Options:

1. Console

2. Emulation (For all consoles)

3. Emulation (Only for older consoles) -» Select this option if u would prefer emulaton for an old console like SNES, but not for newer consoles like PSX and PS2, If u think emulation for the newer consoles do not reach the perfection level of emulation for older consoles, and/or newer consoles have too many buttons, and emulation makes the controls very clumsy, and/or whatever other reason u have.

4. Emulation (Only for non-portables) -» Select this option if u prefer emulation only for mainstream consoles, but not for handhelds/portables. If u think the main purpose of portable consoles is portability, since u can't bring ur computer anywhere like u can bring ur portable device, emulation for these are pointless.

5. Emulation (Only for older consoles AND non-portables) -» Select this option if u agree with both option 4 and option 5.

I'll vote 1st. -» Emulation (For all consoles). Has useful features like save states, and speed up/down. Can pirate stuff way easier (call me a shameless pirate/whatever. I don't care.) + I'm just very anti-console. ^.^
Emulation (Only for older consoles)
because i way prefer using the Dual-shock controller for my PS2 over the keys on the keyboard (i know you can connect the PS2 controller to the PC but i don't want to :P). for this vote, it includes for me, N64 emulation because i actually prefer using my PSP controls for N64, SNES, NES, & Sega Genesis emulation
A fun fact:

I've been using emulators since yr 3. Before i knew how to use Microsoft Excel, before i knew what PC actually stood for, before i knew what a CD was, on a 486 (for those who don't, it's older than a pentium 1), about 5 years before i had the internet (i got the emulator and roms off a friend).

So it's only natural that i would prefer emulators.
CONSOLE :)

you can't beat the old school console of the 70's & 80's Intelevision,Atari. They Rock.

pong and lock&chase was my first two games they were bout $30 back then!!
Im showing my age now.

I'm like the complete opposite to you, i have been using consoles for a long while, and i only have been introduced to emulators a few years ago :D
Consoles... I guess I'm just a bit too stuck in my ways, but for me they're the whole package - blowing the dust out of the old carts, having to restart RIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING when you die at the very last bit of the very last game... Ahhhhh, good times!
For me an Emulator is like DJing with CD's...
Console all the way!
I've only been introduced to emu's this year, so... yeah.

Emulation - more features, easier to control (especially memory), screen-shotting/video recording etc etc.
Plus don't have to bother with cartridges (esp if you have 1000's of ROMs), all your games are on the one machine, plus you don't have to pay for the console.

Speed-up/slow-downs, ability to apply filters, savestates etc are just more reasons to use 'em.

And I personally believe, screw the "console nature" - price ain't worth it...
3. Emulation (Only for older consoles)

Because... its just wrong to 'borrow' from current systems... take from the classic systems that they don't sell anymore (N64 PS1 GBA SNES SEGA GEN, OLD PC aka abandonware/freeware)
older consoles because they, and their games are both generally hard to come by
