RE: New Laptop
So in the 30 days I've owned the laptop it's crashed around 10 - 15 times.

I've done everything possible to improve it's stability; disabled Vista Glass, run CCleaner, isolated driver problems with WiFi and Network cards using a latency checker (and so disable them whenever Serato is running) but it still fudges out all the time.

I've got the dreaded BSOD twice, and last night it hung for around 15 seconds half way through a set - I wanted to die.

So today I took it back to JB HiFi where I got it from, and thank God the Store Manager I was talking to knew his spoon... He's used Serato, has some CDJ' s etc. and while he was quite surprised to hear that the Laptop isn't powerful enough to run the Software / Hardware, he said "Don't worry - wee'll help you out"...

I explained that I wasn't out to rip him off, and that I still wanted to spend money in his store, but that I simply couldn't afford for the laptop to crash in public again.  I mentioned that on the Serato Forums most every member who uses a Mac has had no problems, and that I now want to spend even more money in his shop on a Macbook Pro.

Apparently the new Macbook Pros aren't out here in NZ for another few weeks, which I find a bit weird - I can see them in some online stores already, but meh.

So because it was a seriously busy Sunday in the shop I said I'd go back tomorrow and talk about options - looks like I'll be getting a Macbook Pro though :)  Should have done it years ago!

Anyway, yeah the saga continues...  Will let you know what happens next.
