After reading this thread, I can't resist suggesting that the ID Storage is damaged on the PSP.
(maybe beyond repair from Key Cleaner)
I think the latest version of Despertar del Cementerio has a regenerate ID Storage option.
It may be worth it to your friend to give it a try. :/

Don't worry about my friend, it's not his main PSP, he has also a Crisis Core silver Slim^^
He just got this beaten up PSP somewhere and never found a use for it unlike me...
Good thinking on the ID Storage Regenerator, I will give it a go, but I personally think something is not quite right on the inside with the hardware.
Yesterday the PSP ran 2 hours straight with zero issues, lying on my desk, as soon as I moved it, it froze. Same when I plug in or pull out a memory stick, it will simply instantly freeze.
