Anyone here know how to bypass
websense filter? I hate taking my lappy to school and every other site being blocked :/
Firefox needs a proxy to even be able to connect to the internet. Epiggies to whoever can help

Not even a home computer? Anyway, I've never been able to get that method to work personally. The school's web filter only allows HTTP traffic through, so anything like that needs to be done from web-based services. FTP for example: I can't use FileZilla behind the school's proxy server, I have to use net2ftp.com to access my FTP server at home.

Does your school allow HTTPS? If it does, then you can probably also use port 443. Just tunnel through that.

From memory, his school still blocked that, but should be bypassable with SSH tunneling over HTTPS tunneling...
Nothing works. I've scanned the proxy server with nMap and the only ports open on it is 3123 for http traffic and 80 for the small webserver built into it for displaying the "Access Denied" page...
