torus knot
I followed another tutorial . . this time I used V-Ray (the best renderer!) but still 3ds max 2008 to model
it looks so cool and realistic. . comment please.
PS it took 1hour 1min and 11.3 seconds to render but 30 mins to model

RE: torus knot
It took me 5 min to load this picture into my IE,. ;P
I don't like 3ds max you really should try Maya 2008,.!!
Maya uses Mental ray renderer,. and i think Maya got a better workflow,.. graphics interface.

RE: torus knot
well I got to understand 3ds max already and with 3ds max you can choose the renderer (default scanline renderer, mental ray, and V-Ray (the one I downloaded) you can also download more and add them. . .

RE: torus knot
$#%^^^^^^^ Well Maya got default 2 and comes with mental ray but there is lots of renderers for maya,. like Pixar Renderman and Blue Moon renderer.
i like Maya cause its just easier controlling 3d space,. i can't get used to the controls of 3ds max,. anyway never liked 3ds max,.. lol
If you go to highend3d.com you will see a download section for maya,. it got tons of plugins and melscripts,. :yipi:
Well max got tons 2,. lol ;P

RE: torus knot
if you go there you can also see the downloads page of 3ds max. . .but anyways enough with this debate since these 2 programs have been battling it out for awhile. . . (but it seems 3ds won since autodesk bought alias the owners of maya)
so naw maya belongs to 3ds and I think pretty soon they will merge the 2 softwares

lol i thought you was new to 3d,. well yes they are battling for years i quess,..
Maya 2008 is the best!! ;P
Autodesk was not just 3ds max before, maya was from alias wavefront and they did not have any other programs,.
i am not debating i am just sharing what i know,.
I sure hope they don't fuse the 2 prog's because both prog's have there own workflow,. and i know a little maya,.
Well all i can say is,. if you got the time just try and take a look at maya,.

well I just started but I have been reading around and that's how I know all that info. . .
well I probably will try maya but I am already familiar with the UI of 3ds that I probably won't switch but hey people have their own preferences. . so I might try maya but to me 3ds seems to be leading (afterall it was used to make Assassins Creed)
