New Computer Build Recomendations
Needing to make a new computer.

Although I am completely out of the loop. Haven't made anything in years.

Recommended build suggestions would be great.

Stuff doesn't have to be the LATEST poo poo because it's insanely expensive to some older stuff that'd work just as well but it just needs to be powerful really.

It'll run windows XP and windows vista < keep that tidbit in mind.

It's going to be graphics heavy probably, and I may spend lots of time connected to it via a cloud rather than actually touching it.

I'll be using it for developing games, although I'll probably work in low poly just so I don't actually need a lot of power to do any of it but I'll probably just use it for pre-rendering poo poo that I can show off in my portfolio or something.

Not really sure how much computing power I'll need, let's just say lots.

Price point being : reasonable

Go crazy! :D

Oh yeah, multiple monitors.

RE: New Computer Build Recomendations
boogschd's builds are good, though may be a bit on the expensive side - then again, you did ask for lots of computing power :P.

Which version of Vista - 32-bit or 64-bit?  I presume you're referring to the 32-bit version of Windows XP, in which case, you won't be able to use more than 4GB of RAM.
What sort of applications?

RE: New Computer Build Recomendations
Haha, I did indeed.

As of this moment I'm not sure, is 4gb's as far as I can go with windows xp? If so I'll have to drop that idea I suppose and simply stick with Vista.

As of this moment I'm unsure as what programs I'll be using as it'll be what I'll be learning on.

Those builds look promising boogschd

Also wow that is a cheap ssd, got to get me that.

Anywhoo I'll talk a bit more tommorow, if I need the price to be lower or so.

RE: New Computer Build Recomendations
Honestly, I think that windows 8 + classic shell with UAC turned off is just as good, and little to no more restrictive than XP is. I'm not going to force i down your throat, though. You could also dual-boot windows an linux, even if you aren't a linux-god like trademark, you could install a light distro, like ubuntu, or mint.

Windows XP 32-bit yes, and you probably won't even get that.
Windows XP 64-bit doesn't have the limitation, though it's a bit of a different OS.  Note that it means you need Vista 64-bit to use more than 4GB too.
