Xbox One Thread
Im sure nobody really cares about the Xbox One on EP, but i weighed my thought on it on Facebook, and I'd like to know what you guys think too!

ProperBritish Wrote:Xbox one requiring game installs is a bit disappointing... it looks like a monolithic box, and in real life looks rather cheap with the matte striped effect. kinect requirement is also odd. I can imagine many people just shoving the kinect out of sight and never using it except for the odd voice command. Skype is neat, but not mind-blowing. Also Live TV and DVR is not mind blowing at all, my PS3's done that for about 5 years with PlayTV. No games really except some forza beauty shots, and wee know with Microsoft to take press shots with a pinch... no a shakerful of salt. Not to mention that to put a disc into another Xbox One (like a friend's console) you need to pay a fee to play it. Which is extremely lame. Specs seem to pretty much be identical to PS4... so I'm left thinking why not get a PS4, which is the same spec, and enjoy the next gen without those silly limitations? Each to their own though, I'm saure some people will go with the xbox one just because of the controller, which is a preferred layout for some people. However the PS4's controller does look much sleeker and rounder than the PS3 one, more ergonomic indeed. Overall, not astounded by the Xbox One, but will be very interested to see how things turn out!

All Xbox One talk here!

I'll still undoubtedly be getting the PS4 over this console. OFC

Well of course if you both have the game, you don't have to pay again. But then you have 2 discs anyway, and have each paid for them both. Also all game must be installed to HDD to play. Meaning 500GB HDD will be just filled with games you play.

RE: Xbox One Thread
I'm stoked. PlayStation 4 was all "Share button, Share button, Share button". FFS I don't care.

I like how they did the DVR implementation. Not trying to take away from the game machine, but make it another beast entirely. 3 separate OSes split it nicely. You want to game? OK! You want to watch TV? OK! They don't crowd each other out.

The Azure cloud computing will be amazing, and I think the killer edge against Sony. Offloading processing, or dedicated servers for all games? None of this console hosting poo poo? Used right I think this will be the main reason the system will be more powerful than the PS3.

They didn't go stupid with the controller, they kept what worked with a few improvements. I love the idea of the trigger feedback.

Kinect was good. Kinect 2.0 perfected it. Muscle, emotion and heart beat tracking? This opens so many doors for hardcore and casual alike. Even if it has to be attached, it doesn't have to be used.

On the subject of the fee for using a game in a different console, the game will be linked to your profile so you can use the game on multiple consoles, you just need to sign in. The fee affects used games, and I agree with it. I wrote a post elsewhere:

Used games will be gone soon. Digital media will replace physical, it's inevitable. What they need is a way to track when a game has been uninstalled from a console, then it can be installed on the new one. But I'm 50-50 on used games. I buy a game new and get the experience from the game, the developer gets the money for the experience. You get it from me used, you get the experience of the game but the developer gets no money from it. That is not fair to the developer. 2 people get the experience, only one person paid for it. The other argument is some kids are poor and can't afford that $60 price. Ok, so they can wait a few months and get it for $19.99. The downside is an online game will be dead in a few months. That's where I like this fee. If the used game fee here is paid to the developer, I 100% support it. They get a cheap game, Devs make something. It's win-win instead of the win-lose model wee have now.

So yeah, IMO, this announcement was great. Quantum Break looks crazy good. And Microsoft did an awesome job slitting the console for now and games for E3.

RE: Xbox One Thread
Did nothing impressive, nothing knew "oh look fish move away from you" just like they did on the PS2.

Watch blueray movies like on your PS3.

Watch NFL like on the PS3.

Skype like never before on your PSP~

Graphics are meh.

The console is ugly.

Anyone can utilize cloud computing, easy stuff to implement, nothing special, a norm in mmo's.

Also you need a pretty good internet connection to even benefit from that don't expect your graphics to suddenly get better from it, in fact don't expect anything to change because of it.

What's it's failure rate going to be.

Cause the xbox 360 was at like 54% for the longest time.

Will this thing be of the same poor build quality?

Needless to say. it's just a slightly more powerful PS3.

That's about it.

Nope, I am a gaming fanboy. Fanboys stick to one console. I on the other hand have a powerful PC with a not to bad Steam list, a Wii U, a PS3 and an Xbox 360. I play games plain and simple. But I also don't hate the idea of a game console being more than just that. As long as they do the gaming part well. I won't know that part until the actual launch.
