Le Marry Christmas
Hey, what's a better way to be enjoying Christmas than reading my posts? Answer? EVERYTHING ELSE.

Be that as it may, the fact that you're reading this means you're extremely bored and it makes no sense as it DA TIME OF CHEER AND HAPPI~...you get the idea.

So just putting a little note here, it's a useful thing not to get emotionally upset about things in life. I mean stress and worry is a good thing in extremely small amounts, in fact, for some people (including myself) are more productive in getting spoon done when they make it seem like the sky is going to fall the next day. It's not really worth it though to be honest, I find that most of my blunders is usually caused by a lack of ignorance in the given situation, ignorance born of stress, stress born of...ehhh...myself being a pansy?

The point is, letting myself get out of control usually results in screwing things up or making the situation worse for myself and for others.

I think I can drone on and on about this topic, but I think in the future I need to keep track of where I'm going in terms of the emotion department so I can re-evaluate the ways I tackle things. Remember, it's just life wee're talking about here, live it to the best of your ability and not to some high expectation.

As for my personal life, I was able to find a basement gig for a house, going to work in a week (HAH, TETRIS GOING TO WORK? LAWL I BET I COULD DO A BETTER JOB THAN THAT DOUCHEBAG) so I'm pretty concerned about that, but hopefully I don't end up getting chewed out. I still can't drive, lelelelelelelelelele.

As for school life, eh, I did pretty badly (in my opinion) but that usually stemmed from me being a douchebag and not talking to anyone + living a 2 hour transit from school (which I had to do over the week) so I'm proud of myself for even doing as well as I did under such ridiculous circumstances. I think the what I took most from this is to a) Drop the ego b) Talk to your fellow colleagues and classmates c) You need to be ready to spend a FUCKTON of money whilst in university, that's if you're a stupid pleb like me and can't get a scholarship.

You can learn a lot from people and a lot of people can point you in the right direction, that's what I found anyway.

Argh! I feel like I can't entertain myself any more with video games (my #1 in escapism). I wonder what's happening to me, nor can I really have fun with doing the 1337 nerdy things like coding, I definitely need to find some way to lift my mood yeesh (I LE DON'T DRINK YO).

and LIIIIIIIIIIIINUX, I love this operating system in terms of customizability and what not but goddamn is it no fun in "trying to get things to work". Most solutions online have you go from point a to b to c without explaining anything, it drives me nuts. Goddamn do I love that man keyword.

Oh yeah, another thing I've noticed, the more you know about the information encompassing a certain subject, the faster you'll be able to grasp and understand it.

It's harder to find the path than walk it in my opinion, yeesh.

My Christmas wishlist
- Be a competent Linux user
- Be a competent Artist
- Install a full distro and not one of those preconfigured chocolates
- Get into actually producing stuff with code and what not
- Be 1337 kid haxxor so I can show off to my friends how 1337 I am on my facebooks and twitters.
- Stop procrastinating in above areas (like writing blog posts like this)

Oh man, Santa can't deliver any of this spoon, fml

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

RE: Le Marry Christmas
  • Congrats on living with 2 hour daily trips.  I enjoy 20 minute walks to/from work each day, so couldn't imagine 2 hour trips daily.
  • Sounds like you're learning - good, that's all that really counts to be honest
  • Scholarships, at least based on academic merit, seem somewhat counter-intuitive.  Unis/college provide them to encourage good students to give the tertiary institution cred, but you'd think that a smart student doesn't really need tertiary education...?  I dunno, just a side thought.
  • Try finding something new to do then - there's HEAPS of stuff out there, and for an inquisitive mind like yours, I'm sure you'll find something interesting
  • Personally I think Linux would be a bit too much of a bother for me to adopt as a primary OS, simply due to compatibility stuffs, and the difficulty of trying to get some Windows stuff working on Linux.
  • I think your goals are somewhat ambitious, but nonetheless possible
  • IDK about showing off; kinda depends on whether you're aiming the skills for your own purposes, or for the enjoyment of others.

  • That's reassuring, thanks Zinga. I like ambition, gives me something to do when I wake up.

  • That was my attempt at a joke. But seriously, most of the stuff I do usually revolves around making stuff that I'd like to see and use, so it's only natural to want to share it with others. It's not that I validate myself as a person based on what other people think though, that's why I'm content with not sharing anything at all.

And the most "showing off" I do is here, but that's just me talking about my past experiences and ambitions, it's fun to read over your old stuff once in awhile to see where you were headed and why you have changed course, etc.

I actually don't have a Facebook/Twitter/etc, I just don't like that way of social outreach; it's a bit too extravagant for me.

  • But hasn't everyone has done that already? (or did they?)

Dizzy right now so my responses might not make sense
