I say it's overstatement simple because I have a PSP for PSP Homebrew. I want Vita homebrew. I have failed to see the attraction to VHBL.

Guys I think the Vita needs PSP homebrew for a few reasons:

- Not everyone owns a PSP
- Not everyone wants to carry around multiple handheld gaming systems
- PSP had a lot of great homebrews, why leave them behind as wee all move forward with the Vita?
- VHBL could eventually lead to full on Vita exploits (you never know)
- As of right now, VHBL is the only publicly available "foot in the door" for any kind of homebrew on Vita.

There is an official SONY homebrew SDK for Vita, but eventually when it is out of beta, wee will have to have brews approved by SONY, and wee will not be allowed to distribute them for free.  If it is not free, then it is not real homebrew!   ;)

I agree and so the only thing wee can do as of now is to push forward

I think most people would have been upgrading from a psp. Like myself, and psp homebrew can just be done on my psp. I see no advantage of running them on my vita.

However hacks like this are potential, and i do like to see them. As said it could lead to stuff for the Vita in the future. For now though, and for me personally, theres no point.

I see buying a vita as the same when I bought a ps3. They tried to get me to buy the ps3 with ps2 backwards cap. I told him Im buying a ps3 to play ps3 games.

Only difference is I would want some of the homebrew from psp, like snes9x. I don't see a point in even having a psp anymore if you have a vita.

For the number of excellent games that are on the PSP... of which a person may not want to re-purchase off PSN to play on their Vita or for games that are simply not on PSN.

I can name four:

- PS Vita costs 2.5x times more than a PSP (E-1000).
- Not all PSP games work on PS Vita.
- PS Vita has only a handful of games, while the PSP has over 1500 titles.
- The PSP is more open, and you don't have to deal with the kind of crapp Sony is trying to pull (e.g. locking flash media to accounts).

Edit: Also, PS1 games. With POPS the compatibility on the PSP can't possibly be matched on the PS Vita.

Errr the driver most people used was Sony's own NP9660 driver sooooo Sony should be able to implement it just as good on the Vita.

Haven't they milked the PS1 enough with the Xperia Play and those god-awful tablets? I wasn't expecting PS1 compatibility, but now that they did, it's probably half-assed, like the software PS2 compatibility on the PS3. Wee all know how well that worked out... What I *was* hoping for was PS2 compatibility on the PS Vita, because of its two analog nubs. The back could emulate L2 and R2 triggers. Because of the awesome selection of PS2 games it would've amped up the available titles on launch day. But it didn't happen. :( And it probably never will.
