Kinda scary business going down. And whilst its been temporarily shelved they go and do something like that. What's next? I don't think that they're going to stop at just megaupload. Bets on rapidshare? Watching the 10pm news it seems a new megaupload site is on its way.

also sucks to be someone who's used that site for backing up their course work and projects they've spent ages on. I'd hate it if mediafire goes down.

This is the thing with this sopa act, they aim to remove copyrighted media, taking with that a fudge ton of legitimate files.

anybody feel like boycotting E3? (Blame the ESA or whatever controls E3 for supporting SOPA)

they should get refunds... but i doubt its going to happen.

Refunds are extremely unlikely.
Not that the owners actually can do anything anyway, from a prison cell.

Knowingly paying for copyright material is relatively serious, if true.
Though I wonder what sort of process was gone through here, and what laws are being applied. DMCA only applies in the US (though copyright, of course, applies worldwide).

the ESA already broke, don't have to boycott e3 this year, but if the gov took down megaupload, before SOPA and PIPA, well they could act without it anyways, just like napster was taken down awhile back, there'll always be ways to get around this poo poo though,

i also hate this country very much right about now
