Way back when, when the Vita wasn't even named Vita yet, Sony released some specs on it, and one of the items on the specs list was RAM, Sony had it listed at 512 MB, than after they 'officially' announced it, wee found out that maybe the RAM got cut in half, bringing the PS Vita's RAM down to 256 MB.

The rumor came up again in a recent interview with Dani Sánchez-Crespo, the CEO of development studio Novarama. When asked if the RAM reduction would hurt his development team, this is the answer he gave.

Quote:The system still boasts its impressive quad-core GPU and CPU, double the processing power of an iPad and four times that of an iPhone, and Sanchez-Crespo is quick to remind us that the RAM count is still much higher than that of the original PSP, which stood at 32 MB of RAM. Paired with the 5-inch OLED display, wee bet you can safely say that Uncharted: Golden Abyss will still look rather rad on the device.

So what do you guys think? I mean, it still has a TON of RAM compared to the old PSP, but I think it would have been hella cool if it had 512 MB of ram.

I think they should make it 513MB so that they can claim it's >512MB and beat the speculators' expectations.

A "lite" version will probably come out later that includes more RAM (and other stuff ofc). Isn't that how Sony works? Knock-knock

Of course, Sony does this all the time. I guarantee the PS Vita Slim will have video-out and other features to convince users to leave there older hackable consoles which always get hacked.

Also hopefully the RAM just got locked so later when hackers hack the PS Vita, all the RAM will be unlocked, or Sony should reconsider this and just leave the 512 MB RAM.

I am pretty sure it has 256mb ram...

They didn't put video out on the NGP because Sony don't want the NGP to replace the PS3.

Maybe on the Slim version wee will get video-out.

Until then I won't be getting the NGP.

sadly...but entertainingly...all my gaming happens on my iPad2 now.

After a brief learning curve, touch screen controls don't bother me at all and I kill the fudge out of everyone in online FPS games so it's very entertaining :D

I waited to buy a slim psp, not I'll wait for a slim vita too!
