Also eventually I will be building my own computer hopefully next month or something. Could anyone point me to a tutorial?? :)

It's oki, I'm running with the 5750 atm and its good. Ebuyer have some good deals and also check Novatech.co.uk, I got my barebones from there and it works wonders

Oh yeh I never even thought about getting a barebones!! That's a good idea..
As for the graphics card I'm gonna get the 5770 :)

As for the graphics card I'm gonna get the 5770 :)

Nice one dude! mine cost me £169 and I pretty much had the rest, but no graphics card. Had to upgrade the PSU in order to power the 5750~. XFX tuned cards are ok, I haven't tried others to give a valid opinion though :/

512MB > 1GB for low end cards.
Video memory means jack all, but what I'm really confused is how it's usually one of the few things advertised.

But then, I don't think you can get a 512MB 5770.

The 7900GTX really isn't a bad card (well, perhaps inefficient, but performance wise...), in fact, the 5570 is only marginally better, at least according to the rankings here: http://www.overclock.net/graphics-cards-...-last.html
But if it's failing really badly and can't hold on, I guess you don't have much choice.

7900 was well regarded as a powerhouse for its time tbf. ive got one sitting around at home which i can overclock to a bearable state even now with relative ease

computer build.. might want to wait a bit more.. the new AMD chips will be coming out SOON :D

or if you want to go intel .. can't go wrong with the 2nd gen i series :D

what's your budget?
