There were definitely slowdowns/requests timed out over the weekend.. things seem to be okay now though.

It seems there was a table crash.
I've fixed up a few things and put mysqlcheck to run periodically.  Unfortunately, mysqlcheck locks tables so things might go a bit slow when it runs.  Hopefully it doesn't affect much otherwise.
