Are you dual booting normally or with Wubi? Also, does the Live CD work fine?

I am dual booting normally without the cd
im useing the installer found here> http://www.ubuntu.com/download/ubuntu/windows-installer
but when I try to sign in RARELY objects on the desktop start flashing really fast then disappear and i end up just staring at the wallpaper again with no taskbar or anything. right clicking has no affect either i need to take out the power to boot up again.

edit:
NEVER MIND I AM USEING WUBI!!!
sorry im so dumb lol
but yah it still does not work...

Burn an Ubuntu CD and boot into LiveCD with it.

RE: BURG - The New GRUB
All I got was a black screen this time after the cd booted up
it asked me if i wanted to try it and i clicked yes...
but after that the screen went dark

does it mater if i pick 32x or the 64x?
I went with the 64x I know my laptop runs on windows 64x...

RE: BURG - The New GRUB
It only matters if your processor supports 64bit. What version did you download?
